Man Found Dead In Nottingham Alleyway
A murder inquiry has been launched after a man was found seriously injured in an alleyway in Nottingham city centre.
Bernard Langton, of Bulwell, was discovered near the Pitcher and Piano pub in Nottingham's Lace Market area early on Monday. The 27-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics, but died on the way to hospital as a result of gunshot wounds.
A Nottinghamshire police spokeswoman said officers were called to the Paris nightclub after an "altercation" had broke out.
The man was found in the alleyway shortly afterwards.
"A murder investigation has been launched after a man died following an incident in the city centre," a police spokeswoman said.
"Police were called around 2am to the Paris nightclub in Broadway, the Lace Market.
"Shortly afterwards, the 27-year-old man was found in an alleyway close to the Pitcher and Piano club. He had sustained injuries and was treated by paramedics but died on the way to hospital.
A spokeswoman for Nottinghamshire Police said a post-mortem examination carried out on Monday revealed Mr Langton had died of a gunshot wound.
Forensic experts were expected to continue examining the area throughout Tuesday.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) have said that they have sufficient evidence to charge a 45-year-old man with the 1993 murder of schoolgirl Claire Tiltman. Miss Tiltman was found dead in an alleyway near her Greenhithe home in 1993 just days after her 16th birthday.. She had been stabbed more than 40 times.
