One of the star attractions at the BBC Gardeners World Live event is a garden showing a journey from the mountains and lakes of the north, through woodland and meadow to sand dunes and ending with a walk along the pier. It shows the rich variety of landscapes that can be seen along England's motorway and strategic trunk roads and is sponsored by the Highways Agency, which manages the 4,300 mile network and is the country's second largest planter of trees. The display highlights the Agency's contribution to the environment. It has been created by award-winning designer Marney Hall, who previously worked on the landscaping scheme for the A34 Newbury by-pass.
