Man Cautioned Over Cotton Threats

Detectives at Scotland Yard have arrested and cautioned a man for sending threatening text messages to radio presenter Fearne Cotton (pictured) while she was on air.

Police escorted Miss Cotton home after she received what was described as "severe" content during Sunday night's Official Chart Show.

A 21-year-old Derby man was held by officers, who transferred him to a London station where he was cautioned and given a harassment warning.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with sending threatening SMS text messages. He subsequently received a caution.

"He also received a first issue harassment warning."

Miss Cotton, 27, has been chosen to replace popular DJ Jo Whiley, who fronts a prominent morning slot on the station, in September.
