Teen Remanded Over Bleach Attack

A 16-year-old boy has appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court charged with attacking a woman with bleach.

The teenager was remanded in custody at Leed Youth Court, charged with wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm and is next due to appear before Leeds Magistrates' Court via video link on August 7.

The 46-year old suffered serious burns after bleach was thrown over her at a restaurant in Kirkstall Road in Leeds on Sunday, July 26.

The woman had asked a group of youths to keep quiet during a screening of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at the Vue cinema shortly before the attack happened.

Two youths were arrested on Saturday, however one was released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The 46-year-old has been released from hospital but is still under medical examination to establish whether her eyes will be permanently damaged.

Northfield Assault Teen Remanded Into Care 'For Own Safety'
A 16-year-old girl charged in connection with the assault of two schoolgirls has been remanded into local authority care for "her own safety", according to reports. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Birmingham Youth Court on Wednesday morning charged with robbery and assault.

More teenagers charged with boy's murder
Two more teenage boys have been charged with the murder of 14-year-old Paul Erhahon. Scotland Yard has said the pair will appear at Waltham Forest Youth Court later. 14-year-old Paul died after being stabbed outside flats in Leytonstone, east London, a week ago.
