Tragic Lord Had Bi-Polar Disorder

The son of an English marquess, who is believed to have fallen to his death from a London tower block, suffered from bi-polar disorder his family has confirmed.

Lord Milo Douglas's father, the 12th Marquess of Queensbury, said his 34-year-old son had "hit a very black, low period".

Lord Milo, a charity worker, was found dead in front of a nine-storey tower block on the Hallfield Estate, in Bayswater, on 21 July.

Speaking of his family's grief, 79-year-old Lord Queensbury said: "He had a problem with bipolar disorder.

"He decided he had had enough. It's the worst thing that can happen to anyone, but I guess it has to happen to somebody every now and again."

Lord Queensbury, whose aristocratic titles date back to the Seventh Century, added: "He would swing from highs to lows, and had a very severe depression. I suppose we have known about it for 10 or 12 years.

"He just hit a very black, low period. Basically he decided the problems of life exceeded its advantages, in a way. He was on medication, but I don't think he could have been absolutely right."

Lord Milo had previously worked as a languages teacher before embarking on a career with Action Against Hunger UK.

The Metropolitan Police said an inquest would be opened at Westminster Coroner's Court.

A spokesman added: "The death is being treated as non-suspicious."
