Blue Peter Star To Host Magic's Secret Songs

Magic Radio has recruited a new presenter.

Former Blue Peter host Tim Vincent has joined the radio team to present Secret Songs.

The former flagship kids' show co-presenter is to cover for Kim Wilde for three weeks from August 16 in the Sunday 10am to 2pm slot.

Secret Songs is a similar format to Our Tune, a feature which Radio One DJ Simon Bates started in the 1970s.

It was a must-hear segment at 11am on his morning programme, where Simon would read out a listener's story about their relationship, but changed the names of the people.

Similarly, Secret Songs is based around listeners' emails, which reveal their sometimes guilty pleasures and songs that remind them of special moments in their lives.

"I'm really excited to be taking over from Kim for a few weeks," said Vincent.

"It's great to be back in the UK and to be involved with such a great show on a fantastic station.

"I love music and I'm really looking forward to hearing people's stories."

Pete Simmons, Magic Programme Director, said: "It's fantastic to have Tim on board as he's a great presenter that the Magic audience will respond to really well.

"Secret Songs is a show where the audience genuinely chooses the music and our listeners are sure to really enjoy his presence on the show."
