Contact is Northern Ireland's Independent Counselling Service, raising awareness of the value of professional counseling for people of all ages.
We recognise how difficult it is for people to access independent, confidential counseling close to home. Contact has access to many community sites across the country allowing us to reach out to as many local communities as possible. We also have volunteer counselors on clinical placement all of whom are also qualified or working towards qualification.
Mission To create safe spaces by developing and delivering high quality therapeutic interventions, breaking down barriers which prevent people from accessing appropriate support.
Vision A society where every person has equal access to timely appropriate support to improve their mental health, recover from trauma and enhance emotional wellbeing.
About our projects Do you feel confused, hurt, angry, no one is listening and no one cares? We care, and will listen. Contact currently offer four major counseling projects:
Community based counseling Do you feel confused, hurt, angry, no one is listening to you or perhaps that no one cares? We care and we will listen and support you with any issue.
Further Education College and Schools Counseling Some Further Education Colleges and Schools have invited Contact to provide counseling to students and staff.
Check it out where you study: we may have a clinic on your campus. Contact can also provide whole agency or small group critical incident support on request.
Hard to talk? Sometimes it’s hard to find the words to say how we feel. Our team of Creative Therapists offer art, music, play and drama to help express and understand your feelings.
