Newry Computer Centre was established in 1980 by Sean & Ita McElvanna and was one of the very first dedicated computer retail outlets in Northern Ireland.
Initially, our main focus was on the home computer industry and for several years this was the core of the business until affordable IBM compatible PC's were introduced to the market. This opened a door into the business arena and marked a change of direction for NCC.
With the introduction of games consoles came a decline in the sales of home computers and, with an expanding customer base in business operations, a decision was made to separate the games from the business machines. In 1991 NCC was split between two premises to allow for showroom space with separate dedicated workshops and greater storage facilities.
Steady growth in the business meant that we soon outgrew our premises so in 2005 another move was effected to our current location at 12, Monaghan Court Business Park, also on Monaghan Street. This is a custom-built retail unit, which also includes a larger workshop area for our maintenance engineers and system builders.
Since then we have continually added to our workforce to keep pace with the widely diverse information technology industry and ever-increasing workload.
From humble beginnings, Newry Computer Centre Ltd has matured and become a widespread operation with customers all over Ireland.
