Man beaten during Co Antrim armed robbery

A shop owner has been beaten during an armed robbery in Co Antrim last night.

At around 7.55pm two masked men, one armed with a handgun, entered the premises on the Queens Road in Antrim town.

One of the men removed a till containing an undisclosed sum of money and other items, whilst the second robber attacked the proprietor hitting him around the head and face with the handgun. The shop owners fought back and managed to disarm his attacker before pulling off his mask.

The assailants then made off in a car believed to be a white coloured Citroen.

Arrests Made At Traffic Collision Following L'Derry Burglary
Police responding to a road traffic collision in L'Derry last night, Wednesday 20 March, arrested two men in connection with an earlier burglary in the area. At 23:55 last night, police received a report of a collision on Gortinure Road involving a black Audi TT. The vehicle was found abandoned in a ditch.
