Four ex-British soldiers killed in Baghdad bomb attack
Four former British soldiers, employed as private security guards in Iraq, have been killed in a mortar attack, it has emerged today.
It was reported that the Nepalese nationals died in a mortar attack on Baghdad's secure Green Zone yesterday. The bomb is believed to have landed inside their encampment.
The men, who had all served with the Royal Gurkha Regiment, were employed by British security firm Global Risk Strategies. At least 15 people were injured during the incident.
The identities of the men have not yet been released as their next of kin were being informed on Friday.

Three British soldiers killed in Afghanistan
Three British soldiers have been killed in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. A fourth soldier was seriously injured. The MoD said that the troops were part of the 4,000-strong Nato-led International Security Assistance Force on patrol in the volatile Helmand Province around 0630 GMT when they were attacked.

BA suspends flights to Saudi Arabia over 'security concerns'
British Airways has announced that it is to suspend all flights to Saudi Arabia "due to heightened security concerns in the region". BA said that it would suspend flights until further notice follows discussions earlier today between the airline and the British government's Department for Transport.

Suicide bomb attack injures two British soldiers in Iraq
Two British soldiers are being treated in Germany for injuries sustained following a suicide car-bomb attack on an armoured vehicle near to Camp Dogwood. The two army technical officers who were on attachment with the Black Watch were flown to Germany for medical treatment to serious injuries to their lower legs.

Men jailed for British couple's murder
Two Venezuelan men have been jailed for a total of 96 years for the kidnap and murder of a British couple in Spain. Jorge Real Sierra, 56, and his brother-in-law Juan Antonio Velazquez, 40, were found guilty of the murder of Anthony and Linda O'Malley, from Llangollen, north Wales, at a court in Alicante, Spain.

Regulatory body for security guards and bouncers launched
In a shake up of the private security industry announced today bouncers and wheel clampers will have to be licensed and regulated by the new Security Industry Authority (SIA). The measures are designed to protect the public from rogue operators and create higher standards of recruitment and training for private security operatives and managers.
