Secret Afghanistan Documents Leaked Online
Classified US military documents relating to the war in Afghanistan, which reportedly contained details of cases where British troops allegedly killed Afghan civilians, have been leaked online.
More than 90,000 files, which recorded details of the coalition forces' campaign in Afghanistan between January 2004 and December 2009, have been linked by the WikiLeaks website.
According to reports, the documents include references of at least 21 incidents involving UK troops and the killing of Afghan civilians.
The Ministry of Defence said that they had been unable to corroborate the claims and that they could not speculate on specific cases.
It has also been reported that the documents include information that suggests that US officials suspected that Pakistan was secretly supporting the Taliban.
The White House has condemned the leak, saying that it could threaten national security, while a Downing Street spokesperson said that the Govenrment "lamented the release of classified material".

Relatives of the Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes are pressing for the suspension of the police "shoot-to-kill" policy following information on the case was leaked to ITV News. Mr de Menezes, 27, was mistakenly shot dead by officers at Stockwell Tube station in July, who suspected he was a suicide bomber.

Commander calls for more Nato troops for Afghanistan
Nato's top commander has urged member nations to provide more troops in Afghanistan to support the current battle against Taliban militants. General James Jones said that the military alliance had been surprised by the "level of intensity" of attacks in southern Afghanistan since Nato troops moved into the region in July.

A British charity worker has been gunned down in the Afghan capital - in an assassination reportedly carried out by the Taliban. Gayle Williams, who worked for Christian charity Serve Afghanistan, was shot dead close to Kabul University.
