Appeal Over East Belfast Armed Robberies

The PSNI is appealing for information regarding two armed robberies in east Belfast on Tuesday evening.

Police said that at about 16:25 a man armed with a knife entered a shop in the Castlereagh Road area and demanded money. He made off with a sum of cash and is thought to have headed in the direction of Isoline Street.

Then, at about 18:50, it is believed that the same man entered a convenience store in the Summerhill Avenue area. He was armed with a knife and again made off with a sum of money.

The man is described as being in his mid 20s, with black stubble and wearing a blue parka style coat with a fur hood.

Detective Inspector Michelle Griffin said: "I would appeal to anyone with any information about these incidents to contact CID at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
