Appeal For Information On Serious Assault In Portadown
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a serious assault in Portadown that it being investigated as a 'disability hate crime'.
On Saturday, 24 February, at around 5.20pm, police received a report that a young man had been attacked by six teenage boys in the High Street Mall area. The victim suffered serious facial injuries as a result of the attack.
Inspector Browne said: "We are treating this assault as a disability hate crime. It is completely unacceptable that a young man going peacefully about his business should be targeted in this way.
"We have had a great response from local retailers when carrying out CCTV checks and are following a number of positive lines of enquiry.
"There is no place for hate in our society and we take reports of these types of crimes incredibly seriously. We all have a role to play in eliminating this behaviour from our community and we would continue to appeal to anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed anything suspicious to contact us.

The attack occurred in the Waterloo Place area of the city on Saturday 6 July at around 1.45am. The victim, who is aged in his 20s, was reported to have been punched once by another man and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Renewed Appeal On East Belfast Assault On 11 July
Police have renewed an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of an assault of a man, aged in his 60s, on the morning of Thursday, 11 July, near Clarawood Estate. It was reported that at around 11am, the man was walking his dog in an area known locally as 'Marsh Wiggle' when he was assaulted by an unknown male.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of an assault on board a Glider bus in the Falls Road of west Belfast on Tuesday 20th August. At around 9:15pm, it was reported that a man in his 20s who was on board a Glider service in the area was struck on the back of the head by an unknown object.
