Man Tasered On Easyjet Flight After Row Over Hand Luggage

A man was tasered on board an Easyjet flight, which was due to leave Gatwick for Belfast, in a row over hand luggage.

The police were alerted after the man became abusive, and when he refused to be removed from the plane officers tasered him.

The incident happened when the plane was on the runway at Gatwick airport at around 8am on Thursday.

Easyjet said in a statement: "EasyJet can confirm that police boarded flight EZY831 from London Gatwick to Belfast on August 20 due to a passenger behaving disruptively.

"Whilst such incidents are rare we take them very seriously, do not tolerate abusive or threatening behaviour onboard and always push for prosecution."

Sussex Police confirmed the man has been arrested on suspicion of the breach of peace.
