Titus Bramble: 'She Never Said Stop'

A Premier League footballer who is in court on sex offences said his alleged victim never told him to stop.

Titus Bramble, who plays for Sunderland, told Teesside Crown Court today that the anonymous woman kissed him and touched his crotch during a taxi ride.

Bramble is accused of groping a woman's bottom in a nightclub in Yarm before repeatedly sexually assaulting a second woman in a taxi, on September 28 last year.

Giving evidence today, Bramble told the court he and the second woman had been "kissing passionately" in the cab.

He said: "We were kissing. We kissed a couple of times passionately. She was touching me and putting my hand on her leg."

But her mood soon changed, he said.

"She then said that she wanted to go to an address and that she wasn't happy," he continued.

Jurors have already heard that the taxi driver took the pair to a police station when he was concerned about the scenes in his car.

The woman gave evidence yesterday to say that she hid in the toilets until she was sure he had left.

She said that in the taxi, he forced her hand onto his groin twice as well as putting his hand up her dress.

Bramble denies four charges of sexual assault.

The trial continues.
