London's NYE Fireworks To Become Ticketed Event
London's New Year's Eve fireworks display is to become a ticketed event for the first time.
Announcing that tickets for the event will be priced at £10 and capped at 100,000, the Mayor's office said that the event's popularity was straining London's transport and safety infrastructure.
It is understood that attendance at the fireworks displays has increased from 100,000 when it launched in 2003, to an estimated half a million in 2013.
Tickets for this years event will be available for £10 from 26 September, limited to four per purchase.

Two Charged Over London Teenager Murder
Two men have been charged with the murder of a London teenager who was stabbed to death in a street fight. Sixteen-year-old Eugene Attram, from Thornton Heath in south-east London, suffered a fatal stab wound to the chest in Mitcham south London, as he was heading to a fireworks display with friends on November 4 last year.

Drivers Warned Over Glastonbury-Bound Traffic
Drivers in England have been warned of an increase in traffic volume on motorways and major A roads between Wednesday and Friday as people make their way to Glastonbury Festival. Highways England issued the warning, ahead of this weekends event, highlighting the A303, M4 and M5 as particular roads expected to be busy.

A south London man has been jailed for 25 years for tying to shoot a policeman. Michael Mitchell, 32, of Babington Road, Streatham, was convicted of attempting to murder Pc Shaun Callow, possession of a firearm and possession of drugs with intent to supply.
