Plane Crash May Have Been Suicide
A pilot who died when his light aircraft plunged into cliffs may have deliberately taken his own life.
Former naval officer Andrew Stillwell-Cox was killed on Saturday minutes after taking off at nearby Perranporth airfield in Cornwall.
Emergency services found the burning wreckage of the plane precariously close to the cliff edge at Sheep Rock.
Devon and Cornwall police confirmed that suicide was one of the lines of inquiry being pursued by detectives.
"Police scene investigators are working together with the fire service. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) are also doing their own investigation," a force spokesman said.

Deepcut investigation criticised in new report
The Surrey Police investigation into the deaths of recruits at the Deepcut army barracks has been criticised by another police force. Devon and Cornwall Police’s report into the deaths for four recruits at the barracks concluded that Surrey Police narrowed the focus of the inquiry by concentrating too much on suicide as the most likely outcome.

Investigation Launched After Death Of Woman Following Bus Fall
A woman has died in hospital after falling on a route E3 bus on Chiswick High Road, just after 13:30 on Tuesday, 18 August. The 77-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 17:00.

An investigation has been launched into an incident in Cornwall in which a man died and a four-year-old girl was seriously injured. Emergency services were called to a house in Whitecross, near Fowey, at about 11:45 on Thursday, 28 May, following a report of concern for the welfare of two people.

Police in Fife have appealed for information into an ongoing investigation following the discovery of a man's body in Glenrothes. Police discovered the body of Aleksandrs Sokolovs (29) inside a property on Tummel Road on Monday. The death of the Latvian-national is being treated as suspicious.

Teenager's body found at north Cornwall resort
The body of a teenage boy found in the sea at the north Cornwall resort of Polzeath on Tuesday as been identified as George Frewer. The 17-year-old's body was found on Tuesday morning.
