Man Shot By Armed Police In Essex

A man has been shot by police after reports he was carrying two firearms in Essex.

Police said armed officers were called to Knights Way in Dunmow at approximately 10pm yesterday, 1 September.

The 48-year-old suspect suffered leg injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment where he remains.

Two firearms were recovered from the scene by police.

The incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

A man has been arrested for wasting police time after allegedly sparking a firearms alert with a bogus 999 call reporting an armed man near a Birmingham supermarket. Armed police were deployed to Sainsbury's in Castle Vale at around 17:30 on Thursday, 15 October, when the alarm was raised over a man seen with a handgun.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.
