Girls Injured In Glasgow Crash

Two girls have been injured after being hit by a car in Glasgow. The girls, aged 12 and 13, were struck by a Jeep Grand Cherokee while crossing Tollcross Road in Glasgow's east end at around 10.10pm on Tuesday. The 13-year-old girl received serious injuries and her friend sustained minor head and face injuries. The driver of the car remained unhurt.

Woman Raped In West Yorkshire

A 35-year-old woman has been raped in what police have described as a "secluded area" in West Yorkshire. The woman was dragged by the suspect into a white lorry loaded with metal off Healey Road in Ossett, near Wakefield. After the attack, he drove the woman to Dale Street, where he let her out. A police spokesman said: "At 3.15am on Sunday the woman flagged down a police patrol in Owl Lane in Gawthorpe, and said she had been attacked." The suspect is described as 25 - 35 years of age, 5ft 8in tall with straggly ginger and blonde highlighted hair.

Man Dies in Lorry Collision

A lorry driver has died after a collision on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border. The crash involving two lorries on the M40 happened between junctions six and five of the north and south carriageways when one of the lorries shed its load. The man was declared at the scene.

New Swindon Rail Terminal To Cut Congestion

A new rail terminal that will help to tackle local congestion and substantially reduce carbon dioxide emissions was opened by Transport Minister Andrew Adonis today. Trains from the Keypoint Swindon rail terminal will transport around 23,000 vehicles each year from the Honda factory to the Channel Tunnel, meaning almost 3,000 fewer transporters on the roads. This will not only help to reduce congestion on key local routes, it will also cut local CO2 emissions.

Police Find Woman And Children In Refrigerated Lorry
Police in Bristol have discovered a woman and two children in the back of a refrigerated lorry. Avon and Somerset Police said the driver of the lorry reported hearing voices from inside the lorry. Police believe the woman and children were in the back of the lorry for two days before being discovered.

Lorry Spills £1,500 Cash Across Road In Swindon
A road was forced to closed in Swindon on Thursday after a lorry carrying money scattered approximately £1,500 in cash across a carriageway. The incident occurred after 1:30pm in Mead Way. Police were called to the scene and closed the northbound road from Mead roundabout. The money was cleared from the road. It is understood no one was injured.

'Train' paedophile gang jailed
A gang of four paedophiles who posted graffiti messages on train toilet doors seeking young girls for sex have been jailed. Trevor Haddock, 55, from Worcester, Ian Jones, 43, from Worthing, John Farmer, 68, from Pevensey and Derek Moody, 43, from Newcastle, pleaded guilty to a range of sexual offences.

The Royal Mail has announced that it is the end of the line for the mail train as it unveiled plans to put in place a more efficient and flexible UK-wide distribution network by road and air.

Police Appeal For Witnesses After Woman Hit By Falling Traffic Lights
Northumbria Police have appealed for witnesses to an incident in which a pedestrian was hit by traffic lights after a lorry collided with them. It is understood that the female pedestrian was standing next to the lights when a lorry left the road and collided with them. The lights then fell and hit the woman.
