About Foot Works Podiatry

Ready to enjoy happier healthier feet?
Currently serving the Bangor area, The Foot Works is your local Podiatry Clinic, offering different treatments and products for all Foot problems.

In Home Treatments
We understand that not all of our clients can come to us. We believe that everyone deserves to have access to the same level of professional care that our clinic offers. Currently we offer limited In-Home treatments for the Bangor community and surrounding area upon request. In-Home treatments start at £40 in Bangor. If you live outside Bangor, a travel cost will incur.

Routine Foot Care
Routine Foot Care is essential for your general foot health! These appointments can include:
  • Nail Care
  • Callus/Corn Removal
  • Ingrown Toenails
  • Verrucas
  • General foot care advice
  • Moisturiser application, if requested.

Toenail Reconstruction
Toenail reconstruction is a cosmetic procedure where we build a new nail for you. A fully Registered Podiatrist uses a specialist gel that is layered either directly onto the nail bed if there is no nail present due to trauma or surgery. If your nail is unsightly or discoloured, we can create a brand new nail with a natural look. Nail reconstruction is not permanent, the length of time it lasts varies massively from person to person. The recommended time is 4-6weeks. However, previous clients have got 8-12 months from their reconstruction treatment.

Relexology
Reflexology is a natural, non-invasive and relaxing treatment. The therapist will gently manipulate points on the foot, which map onto the body, effectively helping the body to relax and rid itself of toxins.

Reflexology has been known to help with many conditions, including:
  • Headaches & migraines
  • Muscular aches & pains, back pain
  • Digestive problems
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Menopause

Ingrown Toenail
Book an appointment to have a Registered Podiatrist diagnose your pain and proscribe you a treatment today! Everybody needs this treatment at different times because everyone's toenails grow at different rates. Depending on the cause of the ingrown toenail the nail may continue to grow this way meaning it may need treated frequently. As soon as a client feels an itch/scratch or any discomfort they should get in touch to make sure we can sort the issue before it gets to sore again.

Paraffin Waxing
Often applied to the hands and feet Paraffin Wax is a natural emollient, helping make skin supple and soft. When applied to the surface, it adds moisture and continues to boost the moisture levels of the skin after the treatment is complete. It can also help open pores and remove dead skin cells. That may help make the skin look fresher and feel smoother. Book an appointment and start your treatment today!

Routine Nail Care
A Routine Nail Care appointment is for those who are unable to cut them themselves and is registered with Foot Works and has been sought treatment within the last year. If you have not received treatment within the last year and would like to book a Routine Nail appointment, we will book you in for an Initial Assessment before scheduling your nail care. Basic nail care takes about 15 minutes.

Gait Analysis Assessment & Orthotics
Biomechanics and Gait Analysis are the study of the way the body functions, the movement that is created and its effect on the lower limbs. Pain in the feet, ankles, knees, hips and back can all be caused by a discrepancy in the bodies movement. Assessments consist of several investigations to assess and evaluate each and every patient.

Here at Foot Works, we specialise in the prescription of orthotics for a range of lower limb foot and ankle conditions. Orthotic prescription depends on some factors that we will discuss with you. Sometimes a simple insole will suffice. However, we will often advise a custom device that is bespoke and made specifically for your foot, made from a cast. We like to use a combination of exercises and orthotic therapy to ensure the best outcome.

At Foot Works, we use a state of the art orthotics lab to make our custom orthotics. They adhere to the very highest ethical and clinical standards when designing and making each set of orthotics. Each pair of devices is unique to the patient, and each pair is made by hand ensuring that they fit you perfectly. A fully custom orthotic should have a lifespan of up to 15-20 years.
