Since 2019, I have been offering accredited dog handling for enforcement officers through intensive day courses that were tailored particularly to their needs. If you are a public institution or organisation that employs people who work day to day in some capacity with dogs and need some skills training in a specific area as part of their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) please contact me via the contact form to see if I can help.
Over the past 5 years, I have run accredited courses on behalf of Open College Network NI (OCN) and behavioural sessions in our Gone to the Dogs premises in Ballyclare on subjects such as
- Teaching our kids and dogs to live in harmony
- Taking care of your puppy
- Understanding what makes your dog tick
One to One Training
The Benefits of One-to-One Training
Sometimes not all problems can be solved in a class environment, so I also work extensively with dog behaviour problems like separation anxiety, aggression, fears, and phobias.
One-to-one work is ideal for those who cannot commit to regular classes due to work or who need individual support.
How it Works
I will come to your home and I will work with you and your dog to help you sort out any behaviour or training problems, and give advice on your specific breed of dog and its needs and its welfare.
They are £225 for 2 sessions which include note, video and support throughout the process
I can offer virtual sessions if you are further away or with your schedule can't find a time that suits a face-to-face visit.
All my training will be for the long term and if you follow my advice and training exercises your dog should be happier and more content in its life.
As a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (membership no. MAPDT00775) I am obliged to continually educate myself in new methods of training and continuously improve my skills as a trainer.
Group Training
All of our tutors have completed a rigorous training programme including an accredited OCN course and they have been carefully selected based on their experience, compassion and commitment to animal welfare. We have classes throughout Belfast and the rest of Northern Ireland and have new locations opening up all the time.
We run 2 types of classes indoors:
- Puppy socialisation which is suitable for puppies from 2nd vaccination up to 25 weeks
- Dog training which is suitable for adolescent, rescued, older, or untrained dogs from 6 months
Both classes run in 5-week blocks and last 1 hour per session once a week
If you want to check out dates and availability for puppy and dog classes in a location convenient to you, please follow the link ‘book a class’.
All dogs will be trained using positive reinforcement and NO harsh methods.
