One Stop Mortgage Shop was established in 1997. It has expanded and is now one of Northern Ireland’s leading Mortgage Brokers.

All of our offices are located in easily accessible locations, many of which are in busy shopping centres. We offer market leading opening hours to suit your schedule – not ours! We take our job very seriously and adhere to all the industry regulator’s stipulations that customers are to be treated fairly. Please ask us to explain our responsibilities to you. In addition to our offices being in convenient locations and opening extended hours, another reason why we are so successful is that we are not tied to one lender or insurance company. This means that we are in a position to save our clients even more money.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. For mortgages you can choose how we are paid: pay a fee, usually 0.5% of the loan amount, or we can accept commission from the lender.

We provide Mortgage Advice ensuring that our clients receive the mortgage product which best suits their needs and budget. We have a strong relationship with many key Lenders. Fixed Rate Mortgages can cost slightly more than a variable rate mortgage, but Fixed Rates have the added advantage that they offer security against interest rate fluctuations. They offer clients the ability to budget more effectively. The most common fixed rate terms last 2, 3 or 5 years.

Life Insurance / Personal Protection
We feel very strongly that clients should be adequately protected when buying their home. How will you continue to repay your mortgage if you are ill or if your partner dies? We will endeavour to provide relevant, cost-effective advice to ensure that your mortgage is adequately protected.

We provide advice from products based on an analysis of a number of insurers:

Life Assurance
This product is designed to ensure that a lump sum is paid on the death of the plan holder to repay an outstanding debt or provide cash to a dependent to maintain a suitable standard of living. This is particularly important if a mortgage is based on two applicants where both salaries are required to maintain the monthly payments.

Critical Illness Cover
Critical Illness Cover is designed to provide protection on the same basis as Life Assurance but on the diagnosis of a range of specified serious medical conditions rather than on death. This type of cover is very often combined with Life Assurance under one plan. Critical Illness Cover is suitable for both single and joint applicants.

Income Protection
Unlike the previous two Insurance Plans, Income Protection is designed to provide a regular monthly income to replace the applicant’s salary whilst off work ill. Typically this plan will pay an income for as long as necessary which is a real benefit if you are under pressure due to ill health. Having this plan in place means you don’t need to rush back to work.

Many of our clients change Lender or mortgage product once their initial deal expires. This ensures that you know that the mortgage payment you are making is competitive. We take an impartial view to ascertain whether your existing Lender or another Lender is the best option for you.

Home Insurance
Buildings insurance is a requirement that all lenders insist on, don’t forget to ensure that the contents of your home are insured as well.

Ask your Adviser about the options on a Buildings and Contents policy, such as accidental damage or personal possessions cover. For buildings and contents insurance we offer products based on an analysis of a number of insurers.
