Winehouse 'Yes Yes Yes' To Ivor Novello Awards

Troubled - but no less successful - soul singer Amy Winehouse has been nominated for three nominations at the famous Ivor Novello Awards.

The ceremony, now in it's 53rd year, will take place tonight at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane.

Winehouse has been nominated for Best Song for her moody track 'Love is a Losing Game' and 'You Know I'm No Good'.

Her instantly recognisable track 'Rehab' has been nominated for Best Song Musicially & Lyrically.

Kate Nash is up for Best Contemporary Song for 'Foundations' and Kaiser Chiefs anthem 'Ruby' has been nominated for the Performing Rights Society (PRS) Most Performed Work.

Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' is in the Album Award category and Stephen Fretwell has been nominated in the same category for 'Man on the Roof'.

Other awards to be given on the night include 'Outstanding Song Collection', 'Lifetime Achievement' and 'Ivors Inspiration Award'.

Sir Paul McCartney thinks that the awards are "the greatest thing to get for songwriters".

"I remember coming here the very first time with my mates John, George and Ringo. Sitting back there just as little kids we were - and it was just fantastic to be part of this songwriting thing."

The Ivor Novello Awards recognise the best British songwriting and composing talent.

The British Academy of Composers & Songwriters will host and present the awards.
