Man In Court On Shooting Charge

A man will appear in court in Manchester in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old girl. The teenager has been shot in the head at her home in Ashover Avenue, Gorton on Saturday. She remains in a critical condition in hospital. Nineteen-year-old Wayne Bryan, of Gorton Villa, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm and ammunition. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called to an address in Ashover Avenue, Gorton, following reports of a shooting." Large parts of the estate have been cordoned off and police patrols are increasing visibility in the area. Ironically, Channel Four's series Shameless is based on the West Gorton estate.

Police Name Car Death Victims in Wales

Police have named the victims of a "suspicious" incident where a man and two children were found dead in a car on an isolated road. Three-year-old Owen, Amy, 7, and Brian Philcox, 52, where found in the Land Rover on an unclassified road near Maenan yesterday. It is reported that all died from carbon monoxide poisoning after inhaling car fumes. A bomb disposal squad has been called to carry out tests on the Land Rover after police found a suspected "device" at Mr Philcox's home in Runcorn, Cheshire. The street where Mr Philcox lives was evacuated yesterday, a police officer is stationed outside his home. Inquires by officers in the Maenan and Tal-Y-Cafn areas have been completed although a section of the scene remains cordoned off while examinations continue. Police continue to treat the deaths as suspicious although police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this time. The Land Rover has been removed from the scene to St Asaph where further forensic examinations will be carried out by experts. One neighbour who did not wish to be named said that she was "just heartbroken" and that the children were "really nice, lovely children". It has been reported that Mr Philcox was going through a divorce, according to his neighbours.

Police Name Bus Stop Shooting Victim
Police have named the man who was shot dead at a south London bus stop at the weekend as Daniel Famakinwa. The 20-year-old, from Manor Park, east London, was found at the bus stop at Waylett Place, West Norwood around 4:15am on Saturday. He had suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and was taken to hospital, where he later died.

Police Name Shooting Victim
A man - killed in what police have described as a 'gang-related' shooting that left three others in hospital - has been named. James Kamara, 22, from the Pitsmoor area of Sheffield, was shot dead in Brunswick Street, in the Broomhill area on Wednesday night. Police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Name Men Found Dead In Car
Two men who were found with fatal stab wounds in a car in east London at the weekend have been named by police. They were Aaron Carriere, 21, and 20-year-old Josiah Manful, and both men were from east London. The pair were found by officers in a vehicle just before 1am on Saturday morning on Montague Road, Leytonstone.

Funerals Take Place of Tragic Dad And His Children
The funerals will take place today of a father who committed suicide and killed his two children. Seven-year-old Amy Philcox and Owen, 3, will be laid to rest today at 1pm All Saints Church, Daresbury Lane, Daresbury, Cheshire.
