South Belfast Cannabis Haul Uncovered

Police smashed a Belfast cannabis factory during a raid in the south of the city yesterday.

Detectives seized substances with an estimated street value of £300,000 from a property on the Upper Malone area.

A PSNI spokesman said no arrests were made following the search.

He said inquiries surrounding the house on the Finaghy Road South are ongoing.

Meanwhile, in other news, detectives are investigating an armed robbery at business premises on the Dargan Road, in the city.

Three people, armed with guns, are thought to have entered the premises on Sunday sometime before 11.45pm while two others are understood to have waited outside.

A sum of cash was taken and it is believed culprits made off in a dark coloured Volkswagen Golf car.

Anyone who witnessed anything or who has any information which might assist police is asked to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or, alternatively, contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
