'Premier' Number Plates
While the chase for the Premiership Trophy is hotting up, bidders attending DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Spring auction can get up close and personal with it.
The opportunity to sit and even have a picture taken with the coveted cup is just one of the attractions lined up for bidders attending the forthcoming auction at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United.
The three-day event commencing on Wednesday 24 March will feature a host of football-related private number plates including the rather apt UTD 805S and FER 661E, perfect for manager Sir Alex Ferguson, along with a vast array of alternatives specifically chosen for the second DVLA Personalised Registrations auction of 2010.
Reserve prices start from £ 250, however expectations are high surrounding 9 O, arguably the event’s “star” registration boasting a £10,000 reserve – especially in the wake of last year’s successes when the agency auctioned its first six O plates – 1 O – 6 O – for a collective £666,000.
Jody Davies, DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Events Manager, said: "Our Spring auction will be an unforgettable experience for the whole family. We have secured a limited number of tickets for registered bidders attending our auction to a free tour of Manchester United’s museum, its fabulous trophy room and tour of the stadium.
"I think I can safely say, you don’t have to be a fan of Manchester United or even football for that matter to fully appreciate it."
In total, DVLA’s forthcoming auction will comprise 1,500 registrations chosen to offer an eclectic mix to suit all tastes, styles and pockets, including, BMW 805S (£400), DAM 114N (£400), FER 661E (£900), F4 LSE (£900), HOT 805S (£400), K11 LTS (£900), NET 800K (£300), NEW 805S (£400), 9 O (£10,000), OFF 1 (£3,200), OLD 805S (£350), 2 OOO (£4,000), TAX 80Y (£400), TOW 805S (£400), UTD 805S (£900), VDS 1 (£3,200).
