Orange to sponsor Londonderry Chamber of Commerce events
The Londonderry Chamber of Commerce (LCC) has announced a new sponsorship association with Orange mobile phone network.
The deal, initially for on year, is anticipated to run over a three-year period and will see Orange, as the communications partner of the LCC, supporting various events and activities throughout 2002.
Dr Alan McClure OBE, president of the LCC, said: “With the help of Orange, we have already adopted a new corporate identity and, in the year ahead, we hope to create a number of events that are interesting, challenging and fun.”
Eric Carson, general manager for Orange NI, said that the relationship demonstrates their long-term commitment to business in the area.
“Derry is one of Orange’s fastest-growing regions in terms of new customer numbers and we are keen to develop our relationship with the local business community in the north west.”
The LCC’s calendar of events for 2002 will start with a guest speaker lunch next month. (GMcG)

Two Orange Halls Attacked
Two Orange Halls have been attacked over the weekend. A number of paint bombs were thrown at Rosedernott Orange hall, outside Cloughmills, during the early hours of Sunday, 23 July. A Union flag was also removed, and a flag pole damaged, from inside the grounds of Roden Orange hall in Kilkeel.
