Peugeot Demonstrates Excellence In Eco2fficiency

Peugeot is running a unique event at Durham University (Queens Campus) to showcase its prowess in eco-efficient technology, design and expertise in electric and hybrid vehicles.

Peugeot is hosting the event tomorrow to showcase its range of current and future ultra low carbon vehicles.

Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to be the first in the UK to test drive a selection of Peugeot's most innovative vehicles.

These will include Peugeot’s new i0n four-seater electric car (available in the UK at the end of 2010) and the all-electric Peugeot Bipper and Expert vans.

As a partner in the North East region’s Plugged in Places project, Simon Bailes, Dealer Principal of Simon Bailes Peugeot in Durham, and Peugeot UK’s Managing Director, Jon Goodman, will host the event.

The largest collection of Peugeot’s most carbon conscious technology will be on show along with experts from Peugeot Paris headquarters who will be sharing the latest phase of its carbon reduction strategy with the attendees.

Nissan Greets Electric Car Incentive
Nissan has welcomed a £230 million scheme announced today by the UK Government, that will offer financial incentives of up to £5,000 to drivers and companies that buy electric vehicles. The scheme will be introduced just ahead of the launch of the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle, which goes on sale in the UK in March 2011.

Peugeot Boxer 335 L2 120 Tipper

Ford Electric Plan Expands To Europe
Ford Motor Company has confirmed that its global electric vehicles plan is extending to Europe with five full electric or hybrid vehicles across its C, CD and light commercial vehicle ranges coming for European customers by 2013.

Minister Visits Vauxhall Car Plant
Business Minister Ian Lucas has seen first hand the efficiency of Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port plant as he toured the production line which makes the Astra. The site in the North West is currently the only plant in Europe to be making the latest version of the Astra model which began production last September.

UK Dealers Top Peugeot Awards
Three British dealers have been recognised in Peugeot’s second European quality awards. Fussell Wadman of Devizes, Simon Bailes of Northallerton and Dale Garage, Hexham were among 15 Dealers out of the 1,200 strong European Peugeot network to receive awards for exceptional service standards in both new vehicles sales and after-sales.
