Ryanair faces rap over misleading advertisements
The UK's Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a complaint against budget airline Ryanair after a customer claimed two of its adverts for cheap fares were misleading.
The ruling by the Authority upheld the complaint over the carrier's autumn offer of cheap tickets for "every seat on every flight.
The watchdog upheld the complaint after the customer actually found that the cheap tickets which were promoted in Ryanair's email and regional press adverts were only sold for midweek flights.
However, the newspaper advertisement, which featured a one-way flight to London Stansted for £19.99, and another to Paris for £29.99, had added in small print that the offer was limited for midweek flights.
The advertising watchdog also upheld a separate complaint about cheap flight offers sent via email. (MB)

Inaugral Shannon to Moscow service jets off
The new Irish airline - SkyNet - launched their inaugural flight yesterday at Shannon Aerospace facility in the Republic of Ireland. The new carrier, which will operate out of Shannon, aims to provide a service six days a week (the exception being Saturday) for Amsterdam and then Moscow.

Tesco unveil pre-tax profits and expansion plans
UK supermarket chain, Tesco have announced that the company is to create 21,000 new jobs worldwide, 9,000 of which will be in the UK. The company's expansion of its Portadown store, which created 400 new jobs and opened on March 25, is part of this development. Tesco also plans to open 55 new stores and 30 new express shops across the UK.

A new safety report has revealed that pilots working for a number of low-cost airlines have been accused of disobeying instructions from air traffic controllers. According to the report, some pilots have reacted aggressively to instructions from air traffic controllers that could affect flight times.
