Masked attacker slashes man in Bangor with knife

The Police Service of Northern Ireland has appealed for witnesses to a vicious stabbing attack which took place in Bangor, County Down to come forward.

A 36-year-old man was attacked by a masked man armed with a ‘Stanley’ knife in Vennell car park in the town just after midday on Thursday January 3. The man received slash wounds to his face, chest and stomach, although it is understood the man’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Meanwhile in Belfast three men have been injured in overnight violence in Belfast, County Antrim.

Two men suffered gunshot wounds in separate paramilitary-style shootings in Belfast on Wednesday January 2, while another man was stabbed outside his home.

In the North Queen’s Street area of Belfast, a man in his forties was taken to hospital after being shot in his left leg around 9pm in an alleyway between Glenrose Link and North Queen Street.

A second man, 32, was shot and wounded in the leg at Drumard Square in the Belvoir area around 6pm.

A third man in his forties is critically ill after being stabbed outside his house near the Limestone Road in north Belfast. (AMcE)

PSNI 'Increasingly Concerned' For Missing North Belfast Man
The PSNI are increasingly concerned for a missing north Belfast man who may have travelled towards Larne. 39-year-old C Brady was last seen in the Skegoniel area at around 5.30pm on 05 January. He is believed to have travelled towards Larne in a silver Toyota Yaris, registration number FFZ 5221.

Two men have been arrested after they failed to stop for police and were involved in a pursuit on the afternoon of Tuesday, 22 November. Shortly after 3:10pm yesteday, it was reported that a Citroën C3 car failed to stop as it was travelling along the Doagh Road area of Ballyclare.

Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Intimidation And Criminal Damage
A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidation and criminal damage. A number of attacks on homes and cars have forced families to leave the Ballysillan area of north Belfast. A 26-year-old man was arrested and he is helping police with their enquiries.

Teen Arrested On Suspicion Of Endangering An Aircraft
A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft in north Belfast. A 19-year-old man pointed a laser at a police helicopter on Thursday, 05 October. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Not only is this type of behaviour an offence, but it is also highly irresponsible and dangerous.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Conor McKee
A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Conor McKee. Mr McKee was found dead at his home in Glenpark Street in north Belfast on Thursday, 07 January. He had been shot a number of times. The suspect is being questioned at a police station in Belfast.
