Jobs Boost 'Assured' By Zurich

An imminent jobs fillip by Zurich Insurance is set to bring to 1,100 the number of people employed by the firm in Ireland.

The latest boost will see as many as 120 insurance jobs created as Zurich Insurance expands its operations in Ireland.

It is now recruiting for one of the company's European centres in Dublin.

Already this year 120 jobs have been filled at its new business centre in Wexford.

A further 120 people will be hired before the end of the year at the company's two European Centres in Dublin.

The company, which employs 60,000 people worldwide, said that it had considered a number of possible locations, but Ireland had won out because of its participation in the Euro single-currency, and its highly educated and skilled workforce.
