Derry Man Dies In Hotel Fall

A man from Co Londonderry has died after he fell from a hotel window in Donegal Town.

He has been named as Conor Duddy from the Lecky Road in Brandywell.

The 20-year-old fell from the third floor of the Abbey Hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was being treated in hospital in Letterkenny where he died on Monday afternoon. Gardai in Donegal are appealing for witnesses.

Fr Roland Colhoun from Long Tower parish knew Conor and paid tribute to him. "Conor was a wonderful young fellow, from a marvellous family. "He was well brought up, worked hard and studied well.

"He was highly intelligent and had just completed his first year in university."

PSNI Appeal For Information On Fatal Collision Outside Tandragee
The PSNI have named a man who died following a road traffic collision outside Tandragee, as 84-year-old Sidney McIldoon. Mr McIldoon, who was from Portadown, died following a collision between his vehicle and a tractor on Tuesday afternoon, 13th February on the Cornascriebe Road, between Tandragee and Hamiltonsbawn.

Former City Centre Police Station To Become New 74-Bedroom Hotel
A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.

Minister Welcome Commitment To Deliver Energy Support Scheme
Following a meeting with the Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi, Economy Minister Gordon Lyons has welcomed the UK Government's agreement to deliver the much needed £400 energy support scheme.
