Aico to expand business into Northern Ireland

Leading electrical distributor Aico Ltd has expanded its operations to include Northern Ireland.

The company is now making its full range of products available throughout all the electrical wholesalers in the province. The range of products includes the UK’s best-selling line of mains-powered smoke alarms from El Professional, as well as the full Aspect Lighting range and Hotspot ceramic infra-red heaters.

James Cavan, Aico’s Regional Specification Manager who has spearheaded the drive into Northern Ireland, said: “We identified a strong demand for our products – especially El smoke alarms – within Northern Ireland and there is great potential for growth here.”

Aico achieved a major coup earlier this year when its El 160 ‘Easi-Fit’ Series of mains powered smoke alarms with 10 year plus lithium cell back up was placed on the Northern Ireland Housing Executive’s approved list.

The company also received a highly enthusiastic welcome at a recent trade show held in the province in September.

Over the next few months the company will be launching a number of new initiatives aimed at the New Build sector, housing associations and electrical contractors. (MB)
