Alleged Stab Death Man Remanded

There was no application for bail as the man accused of the fatal stabbing of another man while at a house party this week in Co Fermanagh appeared in court.

Gary Philip Moane, 34, from Lisolvan Park in Brookeborough, County Fermanagh was remanded in custody until 16 August when he will appear via video link at Enniskillen Magistrates court.

He appeared in Strabane court charged with murdering Ciaran Woods, 36, who was from Drumhaw, Lisnaskea.

He was stabbed to death at a house in Tempo on Tuesday morning.

Defence solicitor Gary Smyth said Mr Moane had expressed regret over the death of Mr Woods and shock at the tragic events that had unfolded.

Mr Moane was also charged with wounding Kathleen McQuaid and threatening to kill another man, Damien Crudden.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Man Injured After Shots Fired At House In Rathfriland
An investigation has been launched after shots were fired at a house in Rathfriland in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, 05 March. Police received a report that two shots had been fired through the front window of a house in the Wright's Park area at around 12.35am, causing minor injuries to a man who was in the living room at the time.

Extradited man denies murder
A 43-year-old Chinese man who was extradited from Hong Kong in connection with the death of a Chinese woman has denied murder. Wong Sui Ching appeared today at Belfast Magistrate’s Court charged with the murder of 29-year-old part-time waitress Ho Mi Ye. She had been found strangled at her home in Isoline Street in east Belfast in June 1998.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.
