Stab Death Probed In Co Derry

A man in his early twenties has been detained close to the scene of a murder in Co Londonderry.

It is understood he has been taken to Limavady PSNI station for questioning after the victim was stabbed to death in a Castledawson apartment block.

The 24-year-old man was fatally wounded at around 10.20pm on Sunday night on the Hillhead Road in Castledawson.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, the PSNI have appealed for anyone with information to contact them after a woman in her 20s was stabbed in the head as she answered her front door near Omagh, Co Tyrone.

It was at about 5.15am on Sunday where she was holding a house-warming party, having just moved into the area last week.

A man was also found on the road nearby with injuries to his head, face and body. Both of them are believed to be seriously ill in hospital.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.
