Seven Die In Horrific Family Incidents
Two separate multiple murder cases are being investigated by the Irish police after the bodies of four people, including that of a three-year-old boy and a five-month-old baby girl, were found in Limerick yesterday.
Gardaí are investigating those deaths after the four victims were discovered at the house in Newcastle West. It is believed they had all been stabbed.
They said that a 31-year-old man was arrested while drinking in a pub in Kilkee, Co Clare.
He was held late yesterday afternoon following a widespread search by Gardaí in counties Limerick and Clare. It is believed he knew the victims.
Meanwhile in a separate probe, post mortem examinations on the bodies of John Butler and his two daughters are due to resume this morning at Cork University Hospital.
The children died at their Ballycotton home in Co Cork yesterday before their father, John - who had been treated for depression - died when his car crashed and burst into flames.
The crash happened on the approach road to the village of Ballycotton.
It is believed the children, seven-year-old Zoe and two-year-old Ella, had been strangled.
Gardaí are attempting to piece together the events in the days and hours leading up to the deaths and have appealed for the public's assistance.

NAMA Takes Over Further 48 Properties
A total of 48 new properties have been taken control of by the Irish Republic's National Asset Management Agency during September. The properties are located in the UK, Clare, Cork, Galway, Wicklow and Sligo. There are now 934 sites which are subject to the enforcement action.

Victims Of Cork Disaster Named
All those killed in yesterday's fatal plane crash in Cork have now been identified. A cousin of the President of the Irish Republic, Mary McAleese's husband was among the six people confirmed dead in Thursday's airplane crash in Cork.

Drugs seized off west Cork coast
An air-sea search for a missing man off the coast of Cork has netted what is believed to be the largest drugs haul ever in Ireland. Gardai have seized cocaine worth an estimated 100 million euro following reports of a man missing from a dinghy off the west Cork coast. One man has been arrested on drugs trafficking charges.

Ernst & Young Recruit 300 In Ireland
Ernst & Young is to hire more than 300 workers in Ireland the next 18 months. The accounting and consulting firm is recruiting graduates, accountants, tax specialists and senior executives for offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Belfast. Around 25 of the new jobs would be based in Belfast, where about 130 people are currently based.
