Seek Village Regeneration Grants, Says SF

People in a loyalist area of Belfast are being advised to seek grant aid to redevelop and repair their homes - and to take advice from the local Sinn Fein representative.

South Belfast Sinn Fein MLA Alex Maskey is encouraging the owners of private homes in the 'Village' area to apply for the grants being made available by the NI Housing Executive to retain and improve homes in the area.

These grants are part of the project to regenerate the Village area which was announced by the housing executive in April 2008.

Alex Maskey MLA said: "In 2008 the Housing Executive announced plans to regenerate the Village area with a major focus of that aim being to retain and improve the majority of existing homes in the area.

"I am, therefore, pleased that the Housing Executive are making a number of grants available to homeowners to facilitate this much needed project.

"I would encourage as many homeowners as possible in the Village area to avail of these grants which will be available in the coming months by contacting the Housing Executive's Belfast Grants office on 03448 920 900 or by contacting my constituency office on (028) 90243194," he said.
