Anglo Findings To Be Published
The Republic of Ireland investigation into the former Anglo Irish Bank Chairman, Sean Fitzpatrick, and its former Chief Executive, David Drumm, is to conclude today.
Mr Fitzpatrick and Drumm have been under investigation since 2008 after the former admitted to concealing €87 million in loans from the bank as part of a circular transactions controversy, which led to the eventual nationalisation of Anglo on 21 January 2009.
The investigation for the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board is also looking into the roles of Anglo Irish Bank's former Finance Director, Willie McAteer, and Irish Life & Permanent's former Finance Director, Peter Fitzpatrick.
Today's report is expected to establish whether there is enough evidence against the men to spark a disciplinary committee hearing.
Former Comptroller and Auditor General John Purcell is heading up the investigation after being appointed special investigator by the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board in 2009.
