Second wave of police recruitment advertising launched
The second recruitment campaign for the new Police Service of Northern Ireland has been broadcast.
The first showings of the commercial, which were launched by the Consensia Partnership, have already been seen on UTV and Channel 4 with the closing date for applications to be submitted no later that 5pm on November 16. Qualified applicants will be entered into the second selection pool in April 2002
Around 20,000 requests for information for the first advertising campaign resulted in over 7,500 completed applications. About 35 per cent of these applicants were from the Catholic community and around 40 per cent from women.
Advertising for this new campaign will include local cinema in addition to television, press and on-line activity.
The cinema advertising is focused throughout Northern Ireland and the border counties of the Republic of Ireland. (MB)

Advertising Campaign To Help Belfast Traders
A £600,000 advertising campaign is in the pipeline to help Belfast traders whose businesses have been affected by the ongoing union flag protests. Finance minister Sammy Wilson was speaking on BBC Radio Ulster’s Nolan Show. He said the aim of the campaign was to "get people back into the city centre and into businesses".
