Pfizer Outline Voluntary Redundancy Plans

A major pharmaceutical company has informed workers in Clondalkin that it is seeking voluntary redundancies. Pfizer are looking at up to 80 lay-offs at the Grange Castle plant, however details are yet to be finalised.

They also reported growth plans in some areas of the facility over the coming months, however job numbers are yet to be determined. Pfizer currently employs 1,200 people at Grange Castle.

€11M Investment At Cork Plant Announced
The Tánaiste has announced pharmaceutical company Pfizer is to invest over €11 million in the establishment of an R&D facility in Cork. Pfizer, one of the world’s largest research-based biomedical and pharmaceutical companies will establish an R&D Kilo Technology Laboratory at its Ringaskiddy site in Cork.

Pfizer To Create Around 130 Jobs In Ireland
Pfizer has announced it is to create approximately 130 jobs across three manufacturing sites in Ireland. The jobs will be created at Grange Castle in Dublin, Little Island and Ringaskiddy in Cork. A recruitment drive is already underway.

Pfizer Plant To Close
Fianna Fáil TD for Cork South Central, Micheál Martin TD, has expressed his disappointment at the announcement that 136 jobs may be lost with the closure of the Pfizer Plant in Little Island. Pfizer confirmed today that they would seek a buyer for their Little Island plant and move operations to the Ringaskiddy plant.

Gilead Sciences To Invest 60 Million Euro In New Biopharmaceutical Facility In Dublin
Irish Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin announced that a leading international biopharmaceutical company, Gilead Sciences Limited, will invest 60 million euro in developing a new world-class pharmaceutical plant at Grange Castle Business Park, Clondalkin, Dublin.
