Yello Polls Well In World Club League

Belfast night club Yello has been voted into number 34 in the 2011 DJ Magazine Top 100 Clubs in the world.

The poll, voted for by the club going public, saw the club climb 33 places since last year, and puts Northern Ireland's capital on the map as a clubbing destination alongside some of the best European and American destinations.

The chart position means Yello ranks as the 5th highest entry of the 21 UK clubs to make the chart, and was one of only four clubs on the island of Ireland to make it into one of the world's most important club polls.

Running every Saturday across two rooms at Mynt in the city's Cathedral Quarter, Yello has brought some of world's most famous DJs and producers from the house, techno, electro and disco musical spectrum to Belfast including Groove Armada, Dubfire, Mark Knight, Radio Slave and Funkagenda.

To celebrate the result, Yello has announced it is throwing a 'thank you' party at the club on Saturday 7 May with free admission for the first 100 before 11pm with a complimentary drinks reception.

The chart positioning comes at the start of changing times for Yello and its host venue Mynt, as stage one of an eagerly anticipated three-part renovation of the club will be commencing at Easter.

A complete refurbishment is expected to transform the entire ground floor of the venue whilst upgraded sound and lighting will also be undertaken. The second and third stages of the renovations are structural and will completely alter the look and feel of Mynt.
