Corporate leadership workshop to learn from Caesar

Attendees at a forthcoming workshop organised by The Industrial Society in County Antrim will be taking tips from the classic leadership style of Julius Caesar.

At the one-day “Power, Politics and Honour in Leadership” workshop delegates will learn from Julius Caesar’s exploits at the hands of acclaimed theatre director and experienced workshop leader Richard Olivier, son of world famous actor Sir Lawrence Olivier.

With a totally innovative approach to exploring the demands of leading through change without losing popular support, Olivier draws on the lessons of Julius Caesar and how they are relevant in today’s challenging work environment.

Previews have been positive, say the organisers, and a large number of business leaders from across the province have already signed up for the workshop.

Taking place from 9.15am to 5.00pm on October 17 at the Dunadry Hotel, the workshop will cover the four essential leadership characters, namely: Dictatorship; Republic; Hierarchy; and Consensus. From these characters develop an understanding the sources of power and influence, along with political intelligence and the ability to read a situation and assess the integrity and motives of others.

Damian Campbell, Consultant at The Industrial Society, said: “The Industrial Society’s leadership conference, which is being facilitated by Richard Olivier, is intended to provide participants with a valuable, interesting and fresh insight into both the challenges facing business leaders today and an opportunity to discuss and share alternative solutions.

“Drawing on the leadership lessons from Julius Caesar, we will provide an enjoyable and alternative insight into effective leadership, enabling participants to develop individual, team and organisational learning.”

Cost per delegate is £175 plus VAT to Industrial Society members and £210 plus VAT to non-members. To book a places on the seminar call The Industrial Society on 0870 400 1000. (SP)
