Man escapes gun attack in Coleraine
A man has escaped injury in a shooting attempt at his home in County Londonderry on the early hours of Friday morning.
The householder was awakened from his sleep around 1am on Friday October 5 after hearing shots being fired at his house in Norwood Court, Coleraine. The man subsequently discovered three bullet holes in his front living room window and a number of strike marks on the living room ceiling.
A man was also taken to hospital in Belfast on Thursday October 4 after being wounded in a shooting attack. The victim, aged in his 20s, suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg in the attack, which police say took place in Farringdon Court, off the Ardoyne road shortly after 9pm.
Meanwhile, three pipe bombs have been defused following a series of security alerts in north Belfast. The devices were defused by army technical officers in the Hillview Road area on Thursday. The security forces were called to examine suspicious packages found between Sylvio Street and Cambrai Street around 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon.
Another suspicious object was discovered at the Oldpark junction with the Crumlin Road and at the junction of Danube Street and Tennent Street. A number of items were taken away for forensic examination. (AMcE)

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Work Starts On Road Improvement Projects In Co Armagh
Contractors have started work on £170,000 road improvement projects in Tandragee, Co Armagh. The schemes are taking place at Irish Street Richhill and Gilford Street. They involve the resurfacing of 1km of roads and where appropriate the reinstatement of footways and verges. To facilitate the schemes, temporary road closures will be in place.

The Department for Regional Development will start work on a number of junction improvements in Belfast city centre next week. The improvements on Grosvenor Road/Durham Street and Hope Street/Great Victoria Street are part of the Belfast On The Move Transport Masterplan which will give higher priority to public transport, pedestrians and cyclists.

Three Men Arrested After Police Seize Around £250k Of Cocaine
Police have seized cocaine, worth an estimated street value of £250,000, during a search in Crumlin. Two men, aged 22 and 42, were arrested after police searched a vehicle on the Dundrod Road at Nutts Corner at around 4.45pm on Thursday, 30 November. A 30-year-old man was also arrested after a second vehicle was searched in Kilrea.
