Police have warned of significant traffic disruption in Belfast on Saturday 25 July due to a number of planned parades, with rolling road closures and diversions in place across the city. Motorists are urged to plan journeys in advance.

In the city centre, the main Pride parade is scheduled to leave the Custom House Square area at around 1pm, travelling via High Street, Bridge Street, Waring Street, Donegall Street, Royal Avenue, Donegall Place, Donegall Square North, Chichester Street, Victoria Street and Anne Street. It is expected to conclude at about 4pm. Those attending are encouraged to do so safely, and drivers should expect restrictions for several hours, park legally and avoid blocking access to residential or business properties. Officers will be on the ground to help manage traffic flow.

The Festival of Chariots (Rath Yatra) will also take place on Saturday 25 July, assembling at Writers Square from 11am. The parade is due to move off at 12.30pm along Writers Square, Donegall Street, Royal Avenue, Donegall Place, Donegall Square North, Donegall Square East, Donegall Square South, Bedford Street, Dublin Road, Shaftesbury Square, Bradbury Place, University Road and Crescent Gardens. Police diversions will be in operation. In East Belfast, a band parade will assemble at Tower Street at 9.30am and depart at 10.15am on the following outward route: Tower Street, Beechfield Street, Templemore Avenue, Newtownards Road, Bridge End, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, Ann Street, Victoria Street, High Street, Castle Place, Donegall Place and Belfast City Hall. A short commemoration service at the City Hall Cenotaph will run from 10.45am to approximately 11.15am. The return leg will then leave at 11.15am via Belfast City Hall, Chichester Street, Victoria Street, Queens Square, Donegall Quay, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, Middlepath Street, Newtownards Road and Dee Street. Police diversions will be in place.

In South Belfast, a band parade will gather at 1pm at Pine Street before following Pine Street, Elm Street, Walnut Street, Donegall Pass, Shaftesbury Square, Great Victoria Street, Wellwood Street, Sandy Row, Donegall Road, Barrington Street, Abington Drive, Donegall Road, Shaftesbury Square, Dublin Road, Posnett Street, Vernon Street, Walnut Street, Donegall Pass and Pine Street. Police diversions will be in place.

A second band parade will form up at Charlotte Street at 3.30pm and proceed along Charlotte Street, Donegall Pass, Shaftesbury Square, Great Victoria Street, Wellwood Street, Sandy Row, Donegall Road, Barrington Gardens, Abington Drive, Donegall Road, Shaftesbury Square, Dublin Road, Posnett Street, Vernon Street, Walnut Street, Donegall Pass and Pine Street. Police diversions will be in place.
