Classic Movies ‘On the Waterfront’ This Summer

The Belfast Waterfront is inviting you to escape the rampant heat of the Northern Ireland summer, by coming indoors to watch some super-cool movies.

On the Waterfront: A Week of Classic Film, running from Friday 5 to Sunday 14 August, will be hosting some of the biggest movies of all time on Waterfront’s super-sized big screen.

Classics such as Grease, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, You Only Live Twice, E.T. , The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Alien will all be screened, so unless you're Mark Kermode's even more grumbley twin brother, there's something for you to see.

But the real winners of the screenings will be Lord of the Rings nerds - er - fans, who can enjoy all three films in Peter Jackson's seminal adaptation of the J.R.R. Tolkien epic trilogy back to back on Saturday 13 August.

That show begins with The Fellowship of the Ring at 12pm, followed by The Two Towers at 4pm and concluding with The Return of the King at 8pm, costing just £8 and possibly some of the functionality of your eyesight.

Tickets for On the Waterfront: A Week of Classic Film are available online, from the Waterfront and Ulster Hall Box Offices and by calling 028 9033 4455. Tickets are priced £3 for each film.
