NI Business Students Bursary Announced

The University of Ulster's Department of Business, Retail and Financial Services has teamed up with leading international management consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP to offer business students a bursary worth £5,115.

The bursary is open to anyone with a degree or equivalent in business or a related area and who meets the criteria for the Postgraduate Programme in Applied Management offered by the Ulster Business School at the University.

Dr Norry McBride, Course Director of the PgDip/MSc Applied Management said: "The bursary demonstrates PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP's commitment to the University's post-graduate teaching and learning initiatives. The course has attracted widespread interest from local, national and international potential students.

"Undoubtedly, PwC's contribution to the course has brought professional added value and provides students with exposure to one of the world's leading management consultancy practices.

"The PwC bursary is greatly appreciated by the Ulster Business School at the University of Ulster," he said.

To be in with a chance of winning the bursary, contestants must complete a 750-word report making a business case to buy a franchise to the board of a fictitious computer hardware company operating in the public sector.

They must also submit an essay describing - in no more than 500 words - how the MSc Applied Management would benefit them and/or their company in relation to the ethos and the content of the course.

In particular they should state how the completion of the course would contribute to their professional development and career.

Anyone interesting in applying for the bursary should contact Ruth McDowell of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP at ruth.j.mcdowell@uk.pwc.com
