TBF Thompson prepare to open £1m truck premises
Mallusk-based TBF Thompson DAF Trucks, are busily preparing for the official opening of newly developed premises on Wednesday September 5.
The £1 million investment has been made in completely rebuilding and refurbishing the 2.5 acre Mallusk site.
The new facility has state-of-the-art, spacious drive-through workshop, including brake roller testing and tachograph calibration. A 10,500 sq ft parts warehouse will house £750,000 of parts for DAF trucks, LDV vans and trailers.
Andy Magowan, TBF Thompson’s Dealer Principal, said: “Increasing demand for product has led to this expansion. We have seen our sales increase dramatically over the last two years.
“Our philosophy of providing exceptional service levels to our customers has resulted in the expansion. We have also extended our service opening hours and increased our staff levels by 20 per cent.”
TBF Thompson offer a full range of DAF Trucks together with vans from LDV.
The company also operate a plant division and are market leaders in Ireland for earth moving and quarry plant sales. (MB)

Fork Truck Accident Victim 'Brain Damaged'
Serious head injuries that left a factory worker with debilitating brain injury has seen the Co Tyrone food processor, Linden Foods heavily fined over an accident on its premises. Lucas Da Costa, 42, who is originally from East Timor, was struck by falling pallets at the company's factory in Dungannon in February 2010.

Invest Northern Ireland has helped a County Armagh company to enter new markets and generate £480,000 of export sales after launching a new product, which is the first of its kind to be manufactured in Northern Ireland. Based in Hamiltonsbawn, NC Engineering produces a wide range of machinery for the agricultural and construction industries.

Truck trailer maker placed in hands of receivers
Top UK trailer manufacturer Crane Fruehauf has been placed in the hands of receivers with 345 redundancies. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) were today asked by the company's directors to step in as joint administrators following a series of severe losses.
