Text messaging set to revolutionise customer relations

Large-scale deployment of corporate text messaging is about to hit the European market following the rollout of Customer Relations Management enhancement, according to Duncan Smyth CEO of leading UK-based service provider 54zero.

Specialising in both turnkey and managed text message services the company has designed and developed a range of modular solutions for text messaging applications. Mr Smith said: “Text messaging is largely perceived as a consumer product exploited by a youth element as a social activity. In fact, to the corporate initiated, text messaging is the hottest new element in customer relations management.

“Those companies that have quietly adopted text messaging as a technology platform for Customer Relations Management are keeping quiet to maintain a competitive advantage.”

Mr Smyth concluded by saying he believed that text messaging would remain a key component of current, 2.5G and 3G mobile phone platforms for the next five years and that businesses would see major enhancements such as extended messaging (EMS) up to 480 characters and multi-media messaging (MMS).

These enhancements offer the potential for a rich new format for enhanced services at minimal cost across all networks and on all handsets. (MB)
