NIIRTA 'Let Down' At Tesco Judical Review

The trade association, the Northern Ireland Independent Trade Association (NIIRTA) has expressed disappointment on the postponement of this week's Judicial Review hearing on a planning application for a new store in Banbridge for Tesco.

The decision was taken by the Court for technical timetabling reasons unconnected with the merits of the substantive case.

NIIRTA Chief Executive Glyn Roberts said: "We are disappointed that the case was not able to go ahead this week as we have always wanted an early resolution of this issue. This type of delay is unfortunate but not unusual in these type of cases.

"NIIRTA looks forward to the opportunity to debate fully the legal arguments it intends to make when the Court relists the matter. As this case is currently before the court any further comment would be inappropriate."
