Man Arrested Over Car Gun Attack

Police have arrested a man in connection with a shot fired at a car in Antrim on Tuesday night.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday following the attack.

At about 23:30 on Tuesday a man in his house in the Rathkyle estate heard a loud bang outside the house.

The back window of a Renault Laguna parked at the address was found to have been smashed at 09:45 on Wednesday.

Police recovered what they believe are gun shot pellets from the back seat of the car.

Antrim Alliance Councillor Neil Kelly has condemned those involved in a shooting incident.

Cllr Neil Kelly said: "The community is shocked at this incident. I am appalled that anyone could carry out something like this. Incidents like this have absolutely no place in our society and they cause fear in the community. This is a deeply worrying event and my thoughts are with the person whose car was damaged.
